Submitting Samples

To ensure the integrity of our test results, MML follows a stringent process for sample submission and handling as follows:

Shipping & Handling

Samples should be kept in original packaging to minimize handling, exposure or contamination during shipment. Appropriate containers must be used to ship samples. Perishable items must be enclosed in coolers and shipped via overnight carrier. Non-perishable items may be boxed and shipped for overnight or ground delivery. Please download and include a Sample Submission / Chain of Custody Form with your shipment.

Submission Forms:

Dietary Supplements: MML FRM 110.05.01v03 – Sample Submission Form

Water Samples:  MML FRM 110.05.02v05 – Water Sample Form

Food/Meat Plants: MML FRM 110.05.03v03 – Microbiological Sample Form

Receiving

When receiving samples, MML properly documents their receipt and stores the containers under designated temperature or ambient conditions throughout storage and testing. We also have the capability to establish a valid Chain-of-Custody starting at the point of sample collection and adhering to the required standards for handling and reporting. Be sure to include a Sample Submission / Chain of Custody Form with your shipment.

Reporting Results

Whether you require traditional printed reports via mail or fax, or electronic files delivered via email, MML will format results to meet your needs. Our staff can also help you understand and interpret the data you receive.

Sample Retention & Disposal

MML will store samples under designated temperature or ambient conditions for up to 30 days after delivery of the final report. Unless other arrangements are made, samples will be discarded after that time.

MML Portal

You can use our portal to login and view samples, and we are working with the LIMS provider to be able to order tests online. You will also have 24/7 access to PDF reports for finished testing and pending results for in-process testing.
